Here are the top 5 mistakes most affiliate bloggers make:

Mistake 1:

They do not research and find the best affiliate programs to promote..
Most bloggers have absolutely no idea how to research and find "great" affiliate products to promote. By "great" I mean:

  • Products that convert to sales well and pays well
Products that bring some value to the customer
Products that have a long life and can be promoted for ages

The reason is simple: They do not have a proven system to discover the best-performing affiliate products that are guaranteed to make money.
As a result, they promote just about everything under the sun and make pennies, when they could be promoting just a handful of the best products and making a six figure income..

Mistake 2:

They do not track their affiliate marketing campaigns..
Most affiliates I've talked to are basically shooting in the dark.
They put up dozens of affiliate links and flashing banners all over their blog and never look at it again. Sure, this is the easy way to do it, but it also means that you have no idea what works and what doesn't!

From my research I've discovered that all the super affiliates do one thing religiously:
they track, track and track some more!
From their tracking they know exactly which affiliate programs are working for them and they dedicate all their resources to making more sales with it. The ones that didn't work are just thrown out of the window, so they cut their losses early..
Now tell me honestly, do you track your links?

Mistake 3:

They are too shy to "pre-sell" visitors and convince them to buy..
"Pre-selling" is a classic, time-tested affiliate marketing tactic that works like magic.
The sad part is, only the super-affiliates have mastered this art and it gives them an unfair advantage to completely dominate the market, stomping over all the other I'm-too-nice-to-sell-anything type of bloggers..

Most bloggers think all they have to do is provide great content, and they could not be more wrong! The truth is, if you want to sell affiliate products like the super affiliates do, you need to learn how to pre-sell your customers and create a buying decision before you even send them to a product page.

Pre-selling is not creating a sales pitch! It's about getting into your customer's mind and understanding what they want, then telling them how the product you're recommending might just be what they're looking for! Face the facts -- if you're not pre-selling effectively you'll never make as much as the Super Affiliates do..

Mistake 4:

They fail at SEO and getting free search engine traffic..
Search Engine Traffic is great for one reason above all:

IT'S ABSOLUTELY FREE!

Hundred of thousands of potential visitors waiting to find your blog, yet you have no idea how to get them..Most bloggers I've met either know nothing about Search Engine Optimization - or they think they know everything about it - but either way they fail miserably at getting their website to rank high in the search engines..

Mistake 5:

They fail at converting PPC traffic into affiliate sales while getting a positive ROI..
This is perhaps the biggest mistake I've seen people make.
They dish out hundred of dollars per day on PPC (Pay Per Click) traffic and send it directly to their blogs! They don't use landing pages at all and as a result, they get ugly conversion rates and waste all their hard-earned money..

It's almost as if most bloggers have no clue on what to do and what not to do with PPC traffic. You can't really blame them either - using a typical blog template is not a good way to turn PPC traffic into affiliate cash because there's way too much "traffic leakage".
In fact, unless you're using the Super Affiliate Pro theme which has special landing pages built to maximize your PPC ads, there's no way you're going to turn a profit.

When I looked at those problems, I had an epiphany! To me those weren't problems at all, as I've been selling other people's products as an affiliate since I created my first website more than 4 years ago, and now I make a six figure income from affiliate programs using WordPress blogs, Google AdWords PPC, free search engine traffic and some secret tactics.

In fact if you sat down with me for a week in my office and peered over my shoulders I could show you exactly how to duplicate my success, and at least double your current affiliate income..
But that's not really possible, is it?
